Preventing Hospital-Acquired Infections
While every measure of the quality of patient care ultimately focuses on patients' safety and the outcomes that result from their care at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, this section focuses on the prevention of hospital-acquired infections.
Cedars-Sinai Health System continually monitors steps taken to:
- Prevent infections resulting from the need to have a central line inserted in a blood vessel
- Prevent infections resulting from inpatient surgery
- Prevent infections resulting from outpatient surgery, including giving antibiotics to prevent infections after surgery and correctly selecting the antibiotics needed to prevent infection
