Community Mental Health Grant Program

As part of Cedars-Sinai's mission to improve community health, the medical center has established a grant program for nonprofits that offer direct, community-based mental health services in the local Los Angeles area, with an emphasis on those that focus on underserved or marginalized communities.

In light of the current economic climate, many nonprofits in this field are facing exacerbated organizational and financial needs. Through this grant program, it is our aim to support these organizations in providing more individuals, families and communities with mental health services.

Organizations providing counseling services in the local Los Angeles area are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to those with plans to focus on Service Planning Areas 4 and 6. Each applying organization may submit one proposal, but funds may be used to support more than one type of service.

Grants will be disbursed over two years with up to $50,000 in the first year and up to $25,000 in the second year (places of worship are eligible for up to $10,000 in the first year and up to $5,000 in the second). The second payment is contingent upon approval of the submitted interim report and satisfactory progress towards meeting grant goals.

Specific grant guidelines are included in the Community Safety Net and Places of Worship RFP and Application Forms hyperlinked below.
